Pigskin Ladder is a free browser trivia game built for NFL stat nerds. Each round pits two real NFL legends against each other in a hidden career statistic — total passing yards, rushing touchdowns, career receptions, or sacks — and you have to guess which player put up the bigger number before the clock runs out. Every correct guess sends you up a rung on the ladder; three wrong guesses (or three timeouts) and your climb is over.
The game draws its numbers from the real career statistics of some of the most decorated players in NFL history, spanning quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, and edge rushers from the 1970s through today. The goal isn't just luck — the further you climb, the tighter the stat gaps get, so a real feel for NFL history pays off.

Quarterback matchups are scored on career passing yards, passing touchdowns, and interceptions thrown. Running back matchups use career rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, and receptions. Wide receiver and tight end matchups compare career receiving yards, receptions, and receiving touchdowns. Pass rusher matchups come down to a single number: career sacks. All figures reflect real, publicly recorded career totals for each player.
Early rungs favor players with dramatically different career lengths or roles, so trust your gut on well-known names. As you approach the higher tiers, the matchups intentionally pair players with very similar production, so look for small edges: era, durability, and role on their offense or defense often matter more than name recognition alone.
